Year End Review

As a new fiscal year begins, so another comes to an end. 2009-2010 marked a great year of growth for our sister churches in South America, both in leadership and in numbers. Following the sending of new leaders to Asuncion, Paraguay in early 2009, the Serra's were sent in August 2009 to lead in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In less than a year following the Serra's arrival the church has experienced baptisms, restorations and many visitors attending and studying the bible. The Serra's are grateful to the FMC for the opportunity to serve in their home country. On the financial front, the churches in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil are making great strides toward becoming self-supporting. This year they voluntarily took a 10% reduction in support they will receive from the FMC. Additionally, John and Kay Hoyt returned from the mission field after serving the Santiago church for 3 years, and have taken a local position in Palm Beach, FL. Finally, the School of Missions finished its third year of training current and future missionaries, and looks forward to continuing this vital role in the years ahead.
